Donegall Quay Limited has been appointed 'developer' by Laganside
Corporation for the development of the Laganside property at
Donegall Quay, Belfast.
The 0.7acre site is located on the banks of the River Lagan
in Belfast, at the Lagan Weir and Customs House area of the
river, and has spectacular views over the city centre as a whole,
as well as the Odyssey Arena, W5 and surrounding landmark buildings.
The development brief from Laganside Corporation stipulated
a mixed accommodation space in which the Company intend to house
a 130-bedroom hotel, 100+ turn-key riverfront and city view
apartments, ancillary car parking, 50,000 sqft. office space,
specialist retail units on the ground floor and a café bar spilling
out onto the riverfront and public square adjacent to the development.
The scheme has been submitted to the Planning Service. |
The project is in the region of £30m and currently is welcomed
in the city by residents, office occupiers and hoteliers from GB
and beyond. The site and project have proven to date to be difficult
to replicate elsewhere in the city as the design of the buildings,
the external facade and internal furnishings that will be utilized,
as well as the views from the location on the river, or second to
none other.
